What's the Deal with Dairy?
Mar 08, 2021Here’s the deal with dairy. Some of you may have heard that RAW, FULL FAT, UNALTERED DAIRY is good for you and I agree….in some cases.
I still wouldn't do it if you are dealing with gut issues that could be stemming from fungus, bacteria, parasites or a virus that your body is fighting.
Now, let's have a look at different options. Pasteurized milk has extended the shelf life of dairy, but at what cost?
Here’s what happens when you pasteurize milk:
kills friendly bacteria
reduces nutrients & vitamins
destroys beneficial enzymes, antibodies and hormones
impairs fat metabolism and the ability to properly absorb fat soluble vitamins A and D
affects your ability to absorb calcium and can contribute to bone & joint issues over time as well as impacting heart health
feeds pathogens like viruses, bad bacterias, fungi
What about altered milk aka “skim”, “low fat”, or other altered versions you ask? I will tell you that any food which is altered from its original state is going to be less recognizable by the body and will cause more confusion as the body tries to assimilate it properly.
Not only will opting for low fat or non fat foods affect your metabolism, and likely make it easier to put on weight, but the chemical process used in factories today- in order to process the fat - can affect your nervous system and immune function, too!
Bottom line, when and if you opt for dairy, do it when your health is stable and on occasion.
Don't compromise and do altered milk products, and only go for raw full fat dairy for the most health benefits.
Eat REAL food to keep your body happy!
